The Role Of A Therapist In Mentoring DID

The role of a therapist in managing DID is integral and an efficient therapist can only manage to control the trauma of the patient and place him in a pacified state where at least he can face the norms of society without least problems. The major therapy is required in the treatment process of DID is cognitive theory and from the first phase of detection of the disease the therapist starts his intervention to coordinate the progress the process of treatment. The original trauma, the sub-pressed anger fear and the bitter memory can be taken out form the subconscious state of the patient or from the affected child in a mode of conversation or in a drug induced state is done by a therapist and the detection of the main problem, the major cause of trauma helps to find out the treatment plan to cure/control this disease.

The recognition of the personalities (alter) and the host personality is done by therapist and the process of family therapy, behavior therapy starts afterwards depending on the detection of the primary cognitive theory. More the therapist will be able to analyze the hidden trait of the patient; successful progress of treatment will be conducted in that proportion.

The role of the therapist comes in major focus on the last phase of the clinical intervention where by cognitive therapy the therapist tries to place a similarity between the split personalities to integrate them together and tries to place a proportion in the social and communicative behavior of the patient o that he can manage his social life without any problem.

In the treatment process of DID the role of medicine is passive. Medicines are used to control the mode swing and to control sleep disorder. However, the general treatment part is conducted by different methods of therapy, cognitive, behavioral therapy are some of the part of the whole process. Here, needless to mention the analysis of the therapist plays a major role hence the role of the therapist plays a critical role in the whole process of intervention.
