This creates abnormality and unpredictability in the behavior of the person with this kind of personality disorder and sometimes he/she performs criminal as well as antisocial activities.

However, the noteworthy factor is his extreme mode of activities that cannot be counted by any means within the paradigm of normalcy and very often appears as self –explanatory of its abnormality. Very often, the order of the personality seems to be irregular and informed or aware of some factors similar in nature.

Some of the major associated features of this kind of psychosis are:

Panic attack

Phobia for some particular or for multiple factors

Suicidal tendency or a tendency to self-harm

Frequent mood swing

Depression or frustration

Alcohol or drug addiction

Trauma for some factors or events or about some situation

There are some similar features of the abovementioned problems and associated symptoms.
Posttraumatic disorder (PTSD)

An overall medical condition is evaluated by general observation and tests.

People suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder displays some particular symptoms and these symptoms are most of the time reflected by some dominant physical disorder or some lack of coordination is behavior. For example if some shows sleep disorder that may be due to some juxtaposition trait of parallel personality, otherwise, there may be some memory of traumatic incidence in the past, still dragging in the memory of the patient of this disease.

In most of the cases, the symptoms of this type of disorder are chronic in nature. It tends to disability, if not physical obviously mental, and sometimes proves to be fatal. Most of the patients of this psychological disorder have a general tendency of self-harm and prone to create self-injury frequently. Some of the patients are observed with a tendency of self-mutilation. In extreme cases, a dangerous suicidal tendency is observed and it recurs time to time. These patients need to be in proper surveillance.

Mode swinging tendency is a general symptom of this kind of patients and it creates a complete unpredictable social profile for the affected person. The mode swing happens due to the undulation created by multi personalities and when one personal trait collides with another or two of the personalities remain active at the same time. This causes depression, and depression often proved fatal for him, or for other associates.

Panic attack from time to time is another obvious and alarming symptom of this disorder. This sort of attack may be generated from any prior traumatic incident, or may be caused by the awareness of another personality within self. It may be the reason that personality A is aware of personality B and B is not aware of personality A but aware of personality C.

Addiction for alcohol or drug is another associated symptoms of this disease. The disorder creates a make believe world to live and with the help of drug and alcohol the patient of DID can escape from this real world.

Dissociative identity disorder is a complicated psychological problem and it is not a mere disability can be identified easily. Most of the patients of this disorder possess extreme complicated traits of character and their behavior, due to multi personality problem, is on an average contradictory in nature. Very often, psychologists emphasize on prolong personal interview or customized questionnaire to analyze the trait of the disorders or to identify the personal traits impacting on his own personality. There are of course different supportive medical test procedures to diagnose the problem of DID by identifying some basic symptoms.

Some psychologists in their research methods have found good response about the drug induced hypnotic method where they declared its easy to find out the traits of other personalities haunting his sense and creating the mental gap causing disorder in the personality. However, this process is discarded by most of the psychologists nowadays because they are of opinion that it creates itself a trace of multiple trait of personality.

Treatment procedure for this disorder is prolonged and is a combination of psychological counseling and administration of certain medicine in its right proportion. In fact, in the treatment process, medication and counseling therapy works as a substitute for each other.

The main problem of Dissociative identity disorder is functioning of multiple personalities on a single entity that create chaos in execution of activity; symptoms are allied to this problem. The main aim of the treatment is to integrate all the personalities into a single trait of personality.
Medication works as a supportive tool or this process and can control depression, frustration, or kind of mood swings.

Some of the patients of this disorder may suffer from sleep disorder, loss of appetite, sexual impotency, and other psycho-physical problem, counseling and proper prognosis about the specific problem have been proved helpful. Counseling therapy is a long-term treatment process and on requirement may be required for 3-8 years/3-4 times in a week and it may vary depending the responsiveness of the patient.
